Anyways, I just wanted to say this manga is heat.

I’m here to give real human criticism, no bot ones. A few aight chapters does not give the quality of the whole manga. Since chapter 212, it’s been 9/10 and only reason I won’t say 10/10 is because I think the Yorozu fight could’ve been executed a bit better narratively. Otherwise JJK has been the same kind of manga since Shibuya. Just because it hadn’t been at that peak level doesn’t mean it is not peak still. People just hop on some weekly Twitter hate for a chapter because it’s trendy.

People should just try enjoying certain things rather than trying to s*** on it. Otherwise why you even in a thread for it?

CG literally had info dumps about systems that ended up to be completely unnecessary to anything. Like whats the point of dicussing wether the barriers will disappear with a rule change or if they are seperate entities from the game

Or CT removal or all that little stuff that seemed to lead to some big smart twist. And lead to nothing basically. HxH most hated arc greed island did this better. The massive amount of rules all ended in the characters using the systems to their advantage. CG simply lacked that asoect and ended up as a big introduction arc or an excuse to seperate the cast

I like JJK. It’s like a 7/10 for me but it bothers me because I know it could’ve been better because Gege has the needed skillset. Another thing is that Yuji is probably one of the most uninteresting main characters I have seen. (Yuta would’ve been much better) Dude has barely a personality. Plus, we didn’t get to spend much time with a lot of these characters. So even if something tragic happens to them, I don’t really feel anything.

pre culling game i would say jjk was a good 8/10 for me but as of now idk what i'd rank it. i think what hurts this arc for me was the amount of time it took to set up the culling games and the rules for it. i thought i had a pretty good grasp of how the rules work but as the story went on and they added more rules im like completely lost rn. this could be due to me not following this weekly anymore so this could change if i do a reread.

i always felt pre culling games JJK did a pretty decent job introducing & establishing characters, but with this arc they've added like 20 niggas into this s*** and i dont even care for most of em. higuruma was one of the few new characters that i liked cause he had a pretty decent backstory and his fight with yuji was pretty creative but he got shelved after yuji beat him lol

i also try not to care too much about power scaling in shonens cus they're either asspulls made up on the spot or just arent as important but some of the s*** these dudes pull out are just egregious i liked when gojo and sukuna were the only op mfs in here but now it feels like everyone can do some crazy ass s***

also ive once again, have been spoiled by some s*** randomly so now i have to catchup again

Even so, and I can agree with this criticism because it’s not perfect, this manga is a battle manga which attempts to implement a difficult power/skill system. I first started this manga thinking it was going to be a brain dead carbon copy and it surprised me it has enrichment. It’s fun, dark, and hype as hell and not some black clover or my hero bs.

Don’t know how people can say it fell off during one arc aka culling games, especially since Yuta, and Hikaris fight were two of the best fights in the manga, and all the characters were hype. People take the Maki vs cursed Naoya narrative debacle and drag it and start acting like because one thing wasn’t executed as they wanted that the whole manga was bad. And the Maki arc was still a 7/10

Main criticism of JJK and Gege writing is that things happen lightening quick. Like he’ll set it up, then boom s***s hits the fan in the next 2 chapters. He doesn’t seem to know the value of holding tension.

It’s refreshing and frustrating. One one hand it’s like nonstop action, back to back with little time to breathe. Then the other side is because s***s happening so fast, it’s hard to grow any attachment to the characters being introduced.

Even at its most confusing arc it hasn’t impacted the sales
