Gege was clever in the way he wrote the fight, because neither of them came out looking bad. He knew Gojo had to lose, but he couldn't make Gojo lose in a conventional way. He had to retain his appeal. So, in their pure forms, Gojo is established as stronger. However, Sukuna emerged victorious because he was able to prepare and ultimately engineer his triumph. Although Gojo showed moments of great strategy, Sukuna managed to outdo him in this respect. With all of us knowing that Gojo had to die - because yes, narratively it has to be Itadori who beats Sukuna - this fight was written in the best possible way, all things considered

People have to keep in mind that JJK is still a shounen battle manga. The big villain of the story will be defeated by the mc, that's a guarantee. At this point, the question is how. But yeah, no random power-ups without any setup please.

I think the fight was actually ridiculously thought out. Gege is such a huge nerd about his powersystem. Open barrier domain, the conditions of barriers, simple domain, healing your own brain, domain amplification, that weird falling blossom emotion, incantations increasing output. All the 10S stuff. This man keeps track of literally everything and threw it into the fight say what you want about the writing but the mans got atleast his fights nailed
