I think Yuta will absolutely destroy Sukuna in this domain battle (he seems to be even better at domain expansion than Gojo since he can select a single target for the sure hit effect) and Sukunas is still incomplete. I appreciate the chapter and Gege actually working on resolving gojos character through these developments, that was always my annoyance with his death. I dislike flashback exposition as a rule but Gege cooking. I extremely don’t care about the themes about loneliness, love, and being the strongest but hook being still caught up on his boo got me. lowkey don’t care about the fate of humanity and want the merger happen justice for geto!

im not sure whats the problem with flashback exposition. You wouldve wanted this entire plan explained before the fight? Directly after Gojo was unleashed? It wouldve been horrendous I dont understand the criticism for the timeskip and the way its been handled. Not explaining the entire plan beforehand but during its execution is like writing 101\. and some of the scenes were genuinely awesome like this chapters or the Higurama stuff.

I simply don’t like mystery box storytelling in general. It’s not propulsive for me and I especially dislike in serial format. Many television shows I’ve dropped bc of it, I prefer characters making choices in real time to feeling like I’m in a construction or puzzle-box. Difference strokes love!

but to answer the question it would be a different story and I liked the reveal I just dislike the broader storytelling style.

I truly feel the merger is the last final arc. Gege said he wanted to do three big arcs. One was Shibuya, other was culling games, and if Shinjuku is apart of the culling games, then the merger is about to be a spectacle. But it probably won’t be as long if anymore of the cast dies lol

Once the Merger begins or is about to, I believe we’ll get our final arc announcement.

For some reason I’ll be bummed but happy once it does end. This is a plot driven manga, and dragging it past it’s designated finale would feel weird. Can’t think of what can make sense after being the literal amalgamation of Japan if that happens, and Sukuna.

I was thinking back to Yuta a\*\*\*yzing Gojos fight and thankfully someone made a thread ( and goes further ). Gege’s such a good writer. And Yuta is the GOAT!

I was thinking the same stuff too. The reread just keeps getting better. I appreciate the threads you find. Yuta’s character development is amazing, it’s crazy how Gege can recontextualize everything in one chapter. Since you are the biggest Yuta fan here, are you prepared for him to possibly die in a couple chapters? It may be the sad outcome. Only reason I feel he MIGHT not is because Gojo said he has a more blessed lineage than him. That might play into things lol

Me thinking we will get a significant flashback too. Introducing that enire Fujiwara and Sugiwara thing and Tengen and Kenjaku still also got a bit to talk about. Gege already showed us Tengen heian era design. I didnt think so before but him reintroducing this entire point made me sceptical. It seemed like a bit of trivia before but now its back in the spotlight. (And I still do think Tengen is Sukunas mother)

I dont think Gege will give us what we want with a Sukuna centered flashback. Tengen is the primary pillar of jujutsu society and also tied to the Sugawara via with six eyes. Something mustve happened that led to Tengen taking on the role of a (basically tree that shelters jujutsu society) while Kenjaku seems to be the one to embrace chaos within the sorcerers. Sukuna also fought against the Fujiwara who in history killed and exiled the Sugawara. Kinda ties him back to Tengen too. Also seems completely oblivious to the six eyes before. And Sugawara was mentioned to be one of the 3 big vengeful spirits of the Heian.

Too many loose ends at this point to not clarify some of it
