Toosie Slide? Way 2 Sexy?

I’m not saying his release strategy is hit chasing, I’m saying the music he’s been making since Views is clearly designed to appeal to the largest demographic possible and rack up the most streams.

Every single project he dropped between 2016 and 2022 was 20+ tracks, besides Dark Lane. Compared to only one project of his from 2009-2015 being 20+ tracks. That’s not a coincidence.

He even says it in the music himself nowadays, he’s most interested in being the most streamed and most listened to artist in the world above all else

I do agree though that since Views he’s been chasing numbers and records and hits for the most part more than anything else

Reason I don’t put him in that Kenny Cole Hov list is purely because he has no interest in making album that’s says anything. His entire strategy is being a hit maker and proving his various styles to make all fans happy. I get it and accept it.

But I clearly give Drake a pass in my post because even if he’s doing super cringy gen z raps like Jumbotron, he can still do something impressive like middle of the ocean.

And Drake has always had length projects. His first 3 projects ever were all 18+ tracks each. Take Care had 20 tracks so you'd have a point if he never had projects that ran long and only started doing that during the streaming era and even then, he has released 4 projects in the streaming era with no more than 16 tracks so your point is s*** lol.

Drake definitely tries to make hits to some extent, not that he has to try that hard but lately he has adapted to the landscape by making some very meme friendly songs and I don’t think that’s unintentional

But some people just being insecure itt about it, we don’t have to act like drake makes all his hits completely on accident. He’s in tune with what will hit and makes stuff with that in mind. Drake obviously cares about making hits
