They’re not pushing the story in the marketing whatsoever, lol. All the trailers and spots are just action scenes.
I mean I know the story and the motivations only cuz whoever it was that said it months ago, but interesting approach. Get the butts in the seats

Lucky. Post the spoiler free review after. Wish I could’ve gone to the screen unseen.
this was better than jurassic world
To me it was the same level as the first JW. Felt neutered a bit, like it could have gone further.
For classic franchise reboots, Alien Romulus>>>>> Jurassic World Rebirth
Jurassic World: Rebirth is what the title says. A “rebirth” of the franchise. Not in the sense that it’s been dormant, but more in a sense that it is a rebirth of the feeling of the original Jurassic Park trilogy. Does it mix in some of the more sci-fi elements from the Pratt trilogy? Sure, but almost everything else about this film feels much more like the original trilogy.
Rebirth puts us back on an abandoned island. There’s no way of knowing what’s around you, or where you are. There is no active park. Just hungry dinosaurs and helpless humans. The plot is pretty straight forward and the movie can be dumb, where it excels is in the scenes where the humans are trying to escape the dinosaurs. The film reverts to the horror elements that came from the original, with the stakes feeling high.
I do feel that Gareth Edwards was a great pick for this. As he has shown with Godzilla (2014) and Rogue One, he really knows how to direct for scale. These dinosaurs did not feel tiny, they felt larger than life just like they did in the original. There isn’t a sense of a kid playing with his dinosaur action figures. There is even a scene that felt very reminiscent of the Stegosaurus scene in the original.
The performances work for the film. I think Jonathan Bailey did the best, Scarlett and Mahershala gave good performances as well. I think the effects were good throughout the film, nothing that stuck out to me. I would say this is the best film in the franchise since Jurassic World. It might even be better. This was a step in the right direction and if they decide to continue with the franchise, keep it feeling like this.
