  • 22 and a marketing major (former finance major) and just dropped all my classes partly because of money reasons and also this year has been a DREAD for me. Idk why, but I lost most of my motivation this year. I'm a go back next term tho for sure because I'm close to graduating.

But clicking drop on all my classes was pretty scary and relieving at the same time. Anybody ever taken a break from school? How was it?

  • I left and was probably the best thing i could’ve done and wouldn’t be where i am now with the people i know now if i didn’t. Chase whatever you want in life and you’ll be happy.

Took a break at 88 hours once I ran out of financial aid. Entered the work force to pay some of this debt off. 6 years later got a house and a good job, and it just gets harder and harder to go back.

I’m going to work towards getting back in this year, and now my work will pay for it. Do I regret the break? Yeah I do a little, but life’s been good and I can’t complain.

Sometimes a break is all you need to realize what you need. Life’s a trip, take advantage, just not in a dumb way

I think it’s dope but the sound selection can improve. It sounds like your going for a dark sound but also at the same time the sounds used are very bright. Id go in the piano roll and pitch stuff down and also pick more fitting sounds as well and if you want some good packs i can definitely send some over your way.

i just downloaded like 200 more gbs of soundpacks

    good criticism

Took a break, never went back, defaulted on loans.

This happens to millions of students thinking they’ll finish school with a year or less left lol.

  • after my associates i took off for 2 years. back in now and will have my bachelors in the fall

Always make sure of what you’re downloading is good tho. I have like 45gb in sounds not even including splice but i barely use most of them. Most important part is having a couple packs that you know are quality that you can keep coming back to and let all the other stuff be extra

    IT NEVER ENDS

    May I ask what?

Damn you just reminded me of all the caveats. Long read incoming.

I work at Newport News shipbuilding, as a marine coatings specialist (painter). We make sure the metal is good before we prime and paint. I work on aircraft carriers.

Long story short we use big powerful tools, in a HOT, DUSTY, DIRTY, LOUD, CRAMPED and DARK environment to remove rust and paint. It's actually a complex job.

But it's dangerous and hazardous, you absolutely must have the following on your body at job. Respirator, steel toe boots, hearing protection, and protective clothing.

It's not for everyone, if you're lazy and work the bare minimum you'll make $37,000 a year if you work weekends constantly you can make upwards of $63,000 a year.

It ain't the best, it ain't the worst, but it beats the days of me making $40 a day at a temp agency or $300ish on a bi monthly paycheck from a restaurant during slow times.

    Raises come automatically and quickly.

This is so good to hear. I've seen so many people go this route and not return. Finish that up

I Took 1 year of college and then stopped going to almost all of my classes by the end of the 2nd semester. I dropped out. I think that having the correct mindset to go to college is necessary. You gotta think about college like your health or a job. You may not like it or it may not be interesting but you just gotta do it. You gotta be responsible. I'm now in my 3rd year of college with about a 3.2 gpa. If you can't maintain the mindset that your school comes priority number 1 then college will be that much more difficult.

I agree though that it's also that much more harder if you gotta be worried about money all the time. In reality you really should just try and chase whatever type of job you're looking to get and not go to college just to get the degree. A lot of the time you can still get a job that requires a degree if you have applicable work experience.
