I always wondered why black peoples still say it . Wasn’t it always a derogatory word towards your culture and ancestors in the past?

I also know why . To take control and reclaim over a word that was using against your culture for the longest time.

I personally would never tell a black person to stop saying bcuz that’s their prerogative.

But as a Latina (Mexican) I know many people in my culture use it too. I’ve never felt comfortable using it . I know some block people who are okay with Latinos using it .
