i work at a restaurant, but i’m not a server. The servers really need those tips. they barely
make $2.50 an hour without tips, and they have to tip other workers in the restaurant (food runners, bussers) regardless of whether they get tipped. The tipping system is terrible but as long as it’s there, please tip your server (as long as they weren’t a jerk to you)

i’m not saying you have to do a full 20% everytime, but if they’re working hard please at least leave them something.

that’s a good idea, but unfortunately that’s not how most restaurants work

  • so like you don't tip even if the service is decent because you don't agree with tipping culture?
You realize that does nothing but f*** the staff right?

I always tip. Good or bad service, I don’t really care. People are just trying to get by.

    This 100%

    I tip 15% minimum
It’s higher if we get a long etc whatever
But 15% is bare minimum for providing the service to me
