Don’t remember how much he had done but it was for a film that was WB mandated to be around 2 hours long with large portions of his script cut. He had a movie but with the way WB cuts down his stuff even that wasn’t his full thing

This is him getting to do his entire idea uninterrupted so he’s taking advantage (as he def should) of everything he likely tried to script in the original that got cut out or never filmed.

Ideas like Leto being in one of his films has been around since he had to cut it from the BvS script. If I’m Zack I’m laying everything on the table no reason he should be limited rn especially when this could be your last chance with these characters

Depending on how WB/HBO markets it, the general public will tune in as well (but Snyder’s style doesn’t mesh with what the GP likes so I’m not entirely sure there)

2) they have this whole Geoff John/Whedon PR nightmare going on.

Things like this typically don’t create huge boost in subscriptions so I don’t think it’s worth the money but I’m assume the play is establishing good relationships so they could do a Baffleck mini-series or even work with the cast on other projects.

The only metric they could go off of would be new HBO Max subscribers

I guess a non success to me would be not enough new subscribers to validate the $70+ Million budget but that may be standard money for streaming content
