Hard to say. I’m only like 11 minutes in.

Edit: I will say tho I’m baffled by the negativity towards that scene with the villagers singing watching it again. I was like maybe I wasn’t paying as close attention the first time to notice but people act like it’s like 10 minutes long. It’s really less then 2 minutes.

It’s really amazing how Disney managed to take the shell of what Lucas and Spielberg were doing with pulp adventure cinema in the late 70’s and 80’s, filled it in with a format provided by Donner’s Superman & Raimi’s Spider-Man, removed all distinct authorial voices from it, and turned that into a flat standardized product which would be given a new coat of paint with each new release and ultimately convinced people this was the epitome of what quality in the genre looked like. Anything that deviates from that is considered weird.

Disney/Marvel hasn't just effected the superhero genre but Sci-Fi and Fantasy blockbusters in general. They've made it so that any original blockbuster or a blockbuster based off more obscure properties are overly criticized before even being released.

So many people on social media were making memes about how terrible Alita: Battle Angel looked or trashing Valerian as a CGI s***fest before they were even released in theaters. More than ever people are doubting James Cameron's Avatar sequels and even going to great lengths to discredit him & Lucas as a great creative forces in cinema.

Its weird seeing people trying to rewrite history and say the original Star Wars film was only good because his ex wife saved it in the editing room. Every film is saved in the editing room.

star wars was the first of it's kind. it only makes sense that their would be a million rewrites and production problems. Discrediting Lucas just because you don't care for his prequels and special editions is lame.

I was surprised how much the RLM guys who are guilty of this sort of thing were really digging the Snyder-isms in this. Jay even saying the slow mo music video like moments were some of his favorites and reminded him why he liked Watchmen so much. Based for having the same favorite scene as me.

I don’t see how you don’t build off of what Synder did. The hype and reception for the two versions are basically night and day. People are actually excited for DC stuff.
