why even name a character jimmy olsen just to kill him and be edgy. Like its not about no Jimmy Olsen so much that it was nice that someone at his job didnt know his secret identity. perry white knows, martha knows, martian manhunter general knows, lois knows . There is such a good plot hidden in there if you say he has to rapidly move his face to be unrecognizable so no one really ever remembers what he looks like he is just a blur. but nah they just said "these glasses really work and you gonna let us ride"

EVEN WHEN WE PUT THEIR OBITUARIES ON THE SAME F***ING PAGE

I think if they were gonna do it they could've used Jenny Olsen especially when she was in the best scene of the movie (world engine) and is a reoccurring face.

secret identity basically means nothing in this movie and not really discussed the implications of their God being viewed as a white man regardless of where they live which is always great in theology. Darkseid and steppenwolf have no great background

How the f*** do you own all your own characters yet are afraid to embrace the character ? So suddenly Batman kills because Superman made him snap but even in the future refuses to kill a psychopath like joker. The poor henchmen trying to feed their family though "they got to die". He not even a detective.

Flash whole story revolves around his moms death but how often do we see a positive memory

Cyborg yes we see his mom drive him home and support absent father. I am a nigga I seen that in reality so will say it works I get it

Wonder Woman her dad lied to her and mom blah blah blah

aquaman i want to be king blah blah blah

superman same issue of yes martha and his dad given good advice but would benefit from a scene of them just bonding without telling him he a hero

fine unite them with the death of parents

BUT SHOW THE VALUE OF PARENTS rather than just acting the viewer to think of their parents. Parents are more than just advice, death, telling us what we are or arent to the world

that whole forced rivalry with Marvel mirrors Kanye and Drake in that for a moment it brought down the quality of both of their content. Because the true launching pad of success for dc was wonder woman which shifted their whole slate lead to a more happy go lucky suicide squad, JL whedon cut , shazam and ww1984. They spent all that money trying to be their competition rather than carve out their own lane. Same reason X Men went to s***. they let that pedo bryan singer back for more than one movie rather than throw money at Vaughn to come back after Kingsman.

All these hero movies got patterns

same way I am not shocked at Gotham, Penguin show, The Batman now they trying to be like "okay lets get fans heavily invested in the universe rather than rushing"

WHICH MANY OF US INCLUDING YOU AND I HAVE BEEN SAYING . "use hbo shows" weve been saying if snyder keeps dealing with time constraints use hbo and a cheaper budget to tell non world destroying stories so the major tentpole movies have weight. yet fans dont listen . "he got a 5 movie 1 billion dollar movie plan lets just let wb spend 1 billion" see mixed returns and trash reviews for fan service

"oh look he got one frame that looks like that comic oh look another frame that looks like that comic" "oh look her references plato, god, jesus in that painting". its referencing so many different things that like superman the universe lacks a clear soul . How does superman change from the first time we see him to the last. Is it worth the money and time invested? are people truly emotionally moved?

Hero movies are running past their time because of the problem of hero worship. Same way we pulling out of Afghanistan and some still like "we had a good reason to go there them WMDS what happened after would have been worse if we never went"

thats why we love the Matrix it knows what it is and how to break down heroes ,but some go too far and dont know whether they want to celebrate heroes or dissect them.

    Snyder's Superman

    Gave the character life

it’s just a more modern take on superman.

imagine dealing with the fact that you’re not from earth and that you’re a God compared to humans and just “being the bigger man” every time there’s conflict because you know that you could kill someone with a lift of a finger.

he’s being good, he’s trying to be a good person, he’s been trying to find out who he wants to be / who he actually is this whole time. honestly people just s*** on this superman because he hasn’t had time to breathe and be Clark bc there hasn’t been a proper sequel for MoS. let there be a proper sequel and everyone will see that he is a good guy and cares about his image being positive - you’ll see that “proper” superman if a sequel takes place. know dat

It's funny because not at one point did I question whether Snyder's Superman was or wasn't a good person. It's that I recognize that he is creating a understanding of what it means to be a good person and how to handle his god like status on Earth.

a Snyder fan will give you an hour long lecture about how luthor was perfect because he was like mark zuckerburg wanted to be god and mark had a trial with government too. That the whole thing really about media and social media control making people enemies cancellation RICH BILLIONAIRES ILLEGAL ALIENS and what someone does with their power. They will say this predicted trump, elon, mark zuckerburg and will one day be considered a classic on the plight of denying Gods existence and love

I AM NOT THAT GUY PAL

honestly was never a fan of the casting of luthor and it’s very apparent in BvS that he would have been a better fit to play Joker than Lex. i don’t have a huge problem with it bc I feel as though moving forward we would have gotten a more accurate representation of Lex from Eisenberg but ya casting department failed on that end tbh

"you are not from earth but you look like a white human who is loved on earth" meanwhile the true alien story is martian manhunter who looks like a black man moved up the ranks and can become anyone. Has powers but can be destroyed by fire. Not some rare rock only found on his planet.

that’s exactly how I saw it. he’s literally just trying to figure how out to navigate his life knowing that he isn’t what he thought he was.

i rewatched MoS recently and I LOVED the Clark moments more than anything else in the film. like I related to his existentialism and trying to figure what his meaning for life was. snyder / the writers of the film were ahead of their time man

and didn’t Nolan literally give the basic outline of the film to Zack for him to finish it? lmao if Nolan directed the film everybody would be saying different s*** lowkey but w/e not trying to sound like a Snyder lover cause he def has his flaws but like let’s keep it a buck

I see what ur saying my nigga but we really don’t need to make this about being oppressed / being an outsider / alien

it’s Superman’s origin story and dealing with his personal issues - just how we deal with our own. so including martian manhunter doesn’t really impact that right now. we’re trying to see Superman develop and grow as a being

does he develop and grow as much as you would like in a trilogy that was supposed to be about him? All of JL would have kind of benefitted if they revived Superman earlier and he had to relearn his powers or learn to lead a team well enough to defeat steppenwolf. All them origins could have either been alluded to in dialogue/battles or condensed into 30 opening strong minutes a la watchmen intro

definitely not, which is what I was saying in my other post. if he had a proper sequel instead of a team up movie then we would have that thorough development

Ok then it's a legit terrible question. You're comparing his first day on the job against foes that are (at the time) magnitudes more experienced than him while he was younger and exploring his literal lineage.

    Vs.

A threat that ultimately precedes a universal big bad. A threat that a much more experienced superman had been informed of by Alfred as something that needed dire attention.

Like....lol come on. It's right there. It's a dumb question
