I been saying lol I been told my snyder cult friend the same thing too. Like obviously its the right thing to do by snyder and his family but it f***ed up their already divided fanbase. Their entire universe is a clusterfuck mess as are the cameos they throw in to other movies towards Snyder verse especially if thtey arent bringing back Snyder with full creative control and other creators. They are so unsure of what they want to do next. That it becomes was it truly worth it to further divide their fanbase and make people feel they will continue this universe?

they shouldnt do a connected universe just tell solo stories for a bit. Connected universe isnt even helping marvel that much right now and they stand 0 chance of catching up to marvel which is connecting tv and movies seamlessly now which is diluting quality of all content but is tight with the phases.

Cyborg being a black superhero where identity politics isn't forced on his character and isn't treated like a secondary character because he's black doesn't get mentioned enough. I almost broke down when he fully realized his abilities and that he was just as much of a god as Superman or Wonder Woman then proceeded to use his power to help one struggling mother with her rent.

Yeah the whole movie would have benefitted from less world ending conflict of Steppenwolf and more basic level crime working up to that level. Because the world ending threat of steppenwolf mirrored Marvel too much and every single Snyder DCEU film the risk was the world end so even though yes its the justice league forming have them form partially against what humanity becomes in the absence of a Superman as well as use the movie to build up all villains that are mortals or live on Earth rather than rush to Darkseid and comic jerk off

I know and all that but I was just rewatching this the other day and that scene of all them fighting Superman still goes stupid hard

Superman the animated series they introduced a crime wave where human criminals had apocalyptic weapons. Superman and his cop friend Dan Turpin figured it out after a while and they used that to introduce Kalibak and Darkseid

I think I figured out why Darkseid being a Justice League focused villain bothers me a lil in this DCEU context.

Superman is supposed to embody possibility and that everyone (including "bad" people) has a chance to do the right thing and when given a real choice that they'll choose to do good.
And even in MoS where the kryptonians are predestined/programmed he has freewill.

Darkseid is literally after the opposite of that. Using anti life to remove freewill and reshape the universe in his own image.

In the last 2 episodes of STAS, Superman was brainwashed to lead a war on earth but after snapping back he went to apokolips and chose to beat darkseid but also chose to leave him for darkseids slaves to do whatever they want to him and in the end they had freewill and chose to save Darkseid.

I think DCEU can benefit from having Superman as a more proactive person and make more choices instead of things happening to him. He's the symbol of hope- that people learn grow and choose their own futures, a better one. If there is no freewill then whats the point

They're pretty much like Neo and Smith in some aspects.

I mean of course the League can go up and fight Darkseid and co, but without good dialogue from these two opposing ideologies you miss out on some of that good stuff and it comes off as just another big world ending big bad.

Even Steppenwolf living to have a rematch couldve been a dope move. Having Steppenwolf having a rematch could be personal for Diana given what he done to her people as well as Cyborg for his father

darkseid killed steppenwolf and brought him back from the dead later in comics... they could do that but i doubt they will, would be stupid tho honestly
