Actually it started with Snyder, WB saw Deadpool and they retooled Ayer's movie to follow that edgy comedic tone.

squad should have never been initially made to set up justice league either way

blame greed, audiences and critics preferring bubbles and giggles over anything else

"everyone" complained dc was too dark , they tried to turn a finished dark movie into guardians of the galaxy

( it was so obvious they hired James Gunn for the sequel/reboot )

    #releasetheayercut

    Those movies already aged terribly.

I agree, but it was nice to see a DC property that was different from the Trinity.

Ayer said it himself at the time Deadpool's success is what inspired WB to make the aforementioned changes, but yeah you're not wrong on the trailer, should've stayed with the Comic-Con 2015 tone, that was dope.

I'm joking on the last two, but Cassandra Cain's mischaracterization is why I will never watch it.

I think you're right its a mix of both, if executives would just shut up and have faith on the brilliant minds they had on their own team right now we would already have JL part 2 and Flashpoint , and a fullyfledged Batfleck vs Jokeletto movie doing both a billion dollars

    Film industry is a business
They go with what they think makes money, but Warner is supposed to have the reputation of having faith in the filmmakers they hire, they messed up big time.

i bet everyone who made those calls and realizing now how much people wanted to see the "dark" movies they destroyed are now unemployed

in a weird way, Todd Philips Joker is responsible for DCEU's big return even If doesn't belong to it

A good movie to begin with

On a more serious note I dont understand why Snyder is supposed ti be some comic book movies god when most of his CB work is missing the entire point of the CB being adapted, just look at Watchmen and his DCU movies

Snyder has one of the most unique visions in comic book movie history and in blockbusters in general

his directing style and attention to detail is unmatched, the fact that his movies exist in an universe that had so many things happen off-screen that we may not know about make them unique

his writing may not always be top notch but I love the fact that his movies feel like they exist in a real universe that we as the viewer may not know everything about

things as simple as hints that robin was killed by joker but never really addressing it, I love that kinda stuff it makes the world more real and lived on

for us it may not mean nothing and just be confusing for why the hell its there but its huge in that world

tell me one superhero movie that wasn't directed and written by Snyder that isn't afraid to say "yeah this whole universe has lots of stories that happened and had real repercussions but I'm not going to tell you about them"

in all superhero movies they always show you the path a superhero took to get like that, but Snyder has to courage to imitate life and show you just how the character is now

when you meet somebody you never know his whole past and why that person is like that and you will probably never know and you just got to accept that , that makes Snyder's batman much more interesting to me than any other batman ever made

@BaroudeurFlipFlop this is why Snyder is appealing to me

Having lots of details is intersting when you can notice said details but if you have to watch a NewRockstars video to get everything, while its fun to decipher movies, s*** is just not working too good (imo)

I agree with you in some part, but I believe its in part because of studio interference, his type of storytelling fits more a 4 hour movie than a 2h one ( another reason fans are so hyped for the Snyder cut - its supposedly 4 and a half hours long )

the bvs ultimate edition for me is a great example of this - it still has a lot of studio interference but as a whole its a much better film

I just think for the Snyder experience to be perfect he needs a better writing partner, because his ideas are certainly unique but the writing lacks in some parts , I guarantee if the bvs released to theaters was the ultimate edition and the Martha punchline better written it would be a 10/10

its what I said , life isn't fair , when you meet someone you dont know everything about their past , you just get hints and maybe you understand maybe you don't , we're just used of getting every reference

there's a reason his production company was called Cruel and Unusual Films
