My nigga Biebs said "and you flick another ash out on the old, on the olddd patiooo"
straight Dijon DNA
Lmao yes exactly. With dijon doing Ab libs in the background. Song sounds like it would fit right in between God in Wilson and did you see it on absolutely
Hot take.
Tyler the Creator should have been involved in the making of this album. He would’ve given it that extra push it needs to get over the hump. Plus he’s a huge Bieber fan. A&R dropped the ball on this one. We need a Bieber interview.

and bro hitting that "settledown" s*** on way it is
This whole GO BABY, THINGS YOU DO, BUTTERFLIES run I'm like "this is pleasant, but also I'm getting bored." Similar feelings with Mk.gee.
Tripping on GO BABY and THINGS YOU DO
Daisies & Go Baby my favorites as of rn
But whole project is good
Def the standouts for me… also like 405
Does YUKON give anyone else slight Frank vibes?
you might be the first person ever to say that
This was a cool experiment. Dijon and Mk.gee spoke about wanting to produce on pop stars, and Bieber as their first real venture into that is pretty crazy. The results are mixed for me, and I don't really see any of the tracks making it into Justin's definitive tracks, but that didn't have to be the goal. Purpose is still his best IMO.
Bieber working with them before Tyler is such a slap in the face lmfao
Hot take.

Does YUKON give anyone else slight Frank vibes?

Tyler shouldn’t have talked about wanting to suck JB’s d***, maybe he would’ve been invited to the studio session then
Hot take.

agreed, this style of production but with actually interesting songwriting and chords which niggas like dijon and mkgee are lowkey are either incapable of or not interested in no offense would've been goated. i really dont mean it as an insult, it's just that most of their music is diatonic and major key/pop sounding despite the interesting production. i like a lot of it but it gets boring after a while. think like bon iver songs which are almost all generic chords wise even if the prod gets crazy. real r&b needs blues and jazz

for example ive been spinning back a lot of gap band lately and just listen to the chords in this one especially at around the 30 second mark. this could've been a simple sweet r&b ballad but theyre masters so they throw in some nice curveballs in there on some stevie wonder s***. not to mention charlie sangs as usual. i could post a million examples this is just the one that literally happened to be in my headphones ahaha

s*** i could post some actual JB as an example. this one is from his best album and it aint close btw. anyway yeah tyler would've definitely provided him songwriting gas let alone his usual unique prod.
405 is some repetitive gibberish
I'm not catching the vibe
I'm understanding the "this falls off in the second half" remarks
Albums defo falls off from DADZ LOVE onwards
Still some great songs in that run but nowhere near as good as what came before that point
Next album is gonna be a more traditional pop album, this one is his passion project aka Journals 2
i dont have any basis to disagree but i hope the opposite like crazy. i took this album as him finally having the courage to make actually interesting music again and getting a creative second wind but we'll see ig. i still prefer journals but this is still the most interesting thing he's dropped since then for me
Does YUKON give anyone else slight Frank vibes?
Yeah sounds like Bieber is about to disappear edge us for the next decade
