JT just posted a video of him and Jessica working out on instagram with the caption "Swolemates. See you in 2022" -- Yes, I may be reading into this...but is he dropping a subtle hint to being more in the public eye with an album/tour in 2022?

Back in July he said his new album was 80% done, I'd imagine he's doing a similar rollout to 20/20 and MOTW with an early January announcement?

Or I'm just reading into this. Fingers crossed for some album news soon!

It’s still wild to me how much JT seems to have fallen off in terms of buzz/public interest. Even in MOTW era when a lot of people were clowning on him, he was still being discussed a lot and did decent numbers. Now it feels like there’s very little buzz around whatever he’s gonna do next… I don’t think it’s a Robin Thicke-level drop-off yet, but it’s still noticeable.

I’m still a big fan and think he’s really talented… but imo he needs a HUGE hit single to start off his next era, whenever that happens. Something to remind people of his best work and his talent. If he doesn’t have a big comeback on his next album, I think he’s gonna be a legacy act pretty quickly, instead of someone who’s a relevant mainstream star still.

True. He’s done like… a handful of features in the years since and tbh most of them haven’t been very good. Really hoping whatever he’s cooking up feels much more inspired, but I agree, I think he should’ve dropped at least a single or two as lead artist by now.

i thought this was really good but it didnt make the noise it should have bc it was part of a soundtrck for a kids movie

Yeah I like this one more than Can’t Stop The Feeling tbh. Though JT’s part feels more like a feature to me still even though he’s co-lead technically. I agree though it should’ve been bigger.

Timbaland just posted on FB that new Timbo X JT coming "sooner than we think" -- it's about to be JT season!

I liked Stay With Me, but I feel like that song came and went pretty quickly, didn’t really impact the charts much. If even that song can’t be a hit for him I really think his mainstream relevance might be done for good. Hoping whatever he comes out with next is quality at least, but I’m not expecting hits at this point.

I'm not disagreeing with you on JT's mainstream relevance, but Calvin Harris didn't chart with anything on that project. So I don't think you can fully blame JT when Calvin Harris had some big artists on that project and didn't really chart well with those either.

It is definitely an uphill battle for JT though to regain mainstream relevance. The music has to be on point. The media is going to come down hard on him whenever he does drop because they hate him.
