I cant tell if he was actually bad in his role or it's just the maga crowd yelling Canada is now our 51st state.

during lockdown Americans lived like Canadians for a few months. the world was never the same after that

He made some mistakes for sure (e.g., not delivering on 2015 campaign promises, increasing immigration without addressing infrastructure, kicking the can down the road on home prices). After 2021 the hate for him grew immensely (to comical proportions imo) to the point that things that should be blamed on provinces get blamed on him.

A lot of the hate is the Canadian MAGA crowd but in general Canadians across the spectrum are looking for change so his time would be up sooner or later. It's rare for any Canadian government to rule as long as he has (~10 years). The rule of thumb with Canadian politics is we don't typically vote parties in, we vote parties out.
