This joint along with a bunch of other stuff that's leaked from him, was on the verge of leaking, which is why Boat gave the okay for Kai to play it, because he knew the leak was imminent and got in front of it.

Was no concrete (no pun) plan for this joint to get an official release

It wasn't leaked in retaliation to anything.
Song is probably from 2022. Yachty sent it to Kai because it was going to be leaked anyway which is why 4 days after Kai previews it, it leaked. Unsure if you in any leak comm, a bunch of large leaks drop recently involving a vast amount of artists.

Uncertain as I only saw this clip pretty sure the question was whether or not Drake wanted it to leak.

I really don't know how else to explain he leaked it because there isn't anything else to do with it at that point. Sample not cleared and it's going to leak soon regardless.
I'm just saying he didn't do it in retaliation.

Idk man. Yachty makes it seem like he didn't know it was gonna leak and he caused it to leak by sending to Kai. Said the person they sampled didn't wanna clear it due to religious reasons, which I respect a lot. Sucks for him that Yachty still released it this way. Still gonna bump it every day though but yeah

I don't understand if the artist they sampled can't sue Yachty regardless for admitting that he leaked it himself even when the guy told him no. Can they only sue when the artists make money off it?

I was under the impression that would fall under fair use but it's actually not the case and the artist can still sue them

SoundCloud still require sample clearance people get away with due to being smaller. It's still a streaming platform. DMCA still is in play etc..

He quite literally said it himself in the video lmfao. Your logic doesn't even make any sense. If he knew the song was leaking, what use is there in leaking it himself ahead of time? It would only make sense if he officially released it. Regardless he's going against the wishes of the person he's sampling and I think that's wack

This is not good in my opinion and as long as you are being transformative with the sample even as a popular artist you should be free to sample what you want as long as you aren't making money from it

A He does not say because in between it's two thoughts in the same sentence.
B Artists like to have some level of control of narratives around their art so rather leak it to Kai to push my narrative. Rather than another lost internet leak.
C I would agree that it's f***ed if money was happening.
D My only point is that Yachty was not mad at Mr Hotspot so he sent Kai a song.
