I just finished my first episode, they gave me Yellow. So far the premise is working, I didn't feel like I was missing anything, but I'm curious if I got lucky, and Yellow just happens to be a good starting out point.

The dialogue feels almost painfully cliché, but I'm gonna stick with it because I want to see how they execute the premise.

It's not a choose your own adventure thing. Apparently you can just watch the episodes in any order and you still watch a coherent story. Everyone gets served episodes in a different order.
