if he dropped donda as it was during lp1 it would still be better i fear.
Holy nostalgia unc

I think about this a lot. Kanye is historically my favorite artist even if I wanted to pretend he wasn’t, and some of the music 2018+ is still always on repeat, but if anybody else made a lot of those songs, they wouldn’t be that good or as critically acclaimed in my own mind lol

nobody else in music could go brakakakaka on an entire song like feel the love and have it hit you like that
i only really see donda as a handoff of whatever the mantle is to other rappers with how diverse the feature list is and considering he blew everything up a year later it tracks

Horrendous song probably Kanye's worst song yes including those ones

wormes for branes
there is 0 cohesion and its riddled with ai with hastily cobbled together songs with awful structure most of which dont go longer than 2 minutes
I was talking about the vapid s***bars part
Bully released version iirc doesn't have AI outside of that one song that less 2 minutes and an melody interpretation
He did use AI as references tho and the other versions are full of AI
There is a lot of cohesion on Bully, it's Soul and Blues inspired with a dash of Synth Pop n "Motown" RnB, although there are like 3 songs that don't fit the motif I agree like the Spanish song, Circles and the 2nd track
The instrumentation is great and inspired, he is using samples as major parts of the song like his very early years of pre CD to CD, he has figured out how to Rap again for the most part and isn't as sexually overt and corny while also rapping again with his ironic and sarcastic bars naturally for the first time in forever which donda1 didn't even have
I don't care if the songs are shorter as long as they sound good overall, although there is two songs I do wish were longer
White Lines
All the Love
Punch Drunk
Bully title track
I Can't Wait
Preacher Man
Father
Those are the songs I genuinely like and enjoy a lot, while there's about two others that are like HMs for me depending - Damn n Sisters Brothers, I also love the beat on King which reminds of Hardcore Dancestyle genre from like Janet Jackson
It's his best since Donda1, although doesn't say much since Vultures 1 is mid with a few highlights, Vultures 2 is straight trash and Donda2 is ass with like two gems, Bully is a middle of the road 6.5 to maybe 7 and is at the bottom of his middle discog - although it does have highlights, the first thing I've perosnally liked since donda1, and I think it's a good "restart" album not only image wise of him relearning how to actually do music once again - lot of the album feels like "back to the basics" with a twist
I actually think Bully is a bit bloated that hurts it, and where the "aimlessness" starts to creep in towards the end quarter
Edit: the talk box usage, which he's never had before, is also artistically inspired and well done
Bully is prob his most cohesive sound wise minus like 2 or 3 songs since KSG funk, soul and psych rock sound
i was 5 20 years ago and hopped on during 808s cause my dad put it on my first ipod cause there wasn't cursing and even still if you got on in your teens you still had yeezus and 99% of pablo era plus a pretty flawless discography to flip through to each of those points
good for you i guess
if that other guy was 3 twenty years ago, he was 13 when TLOP dropped, and had just reached high school age when Kanye came out as MAGA
and he’s from a non-English speaking region, so he didn’t just grow up on ye like you did, he actively sought the guy’s music out once he was aware enough to do so, which had to have been during maga-nazi era

not even including the bonus tracks either lololol
so the listening parties never happened? did you forget the common criticism back then was that if someone was ever in any controversy, Kanye would be putting them on stage with him & on the album as a feature?
redditor internet holier than thou grandstander over s*** other people listen to
notice how everyone who just listens to the music is much happier
“just listen to the music” and the music is just Dave Blunts AI’d to sound like Kanye
