Kanye has always put on near-nobodies (Travis, Cudi, Kaycyy, ant clemons, 070, etc) and Metro/Southside are two of the most talented trap producers ever, and are among the most talented rap producers of all time
Sure Kanye heard of them because they were popular, but there’s more to why he respected and adopted their criticisms in earnest
i never said that he only listens to popular artist they said all the s*** before tlop was too experimental and weird so he dialled it back.

it was due to kanye loving their sound at the time he f***ed with it a lot that’s why he respected their opinions and he felt like he wanted to make a beloved album
