After watching how unrehearsed and delusional ye was in that fast company talk, I think he’s gone mad. Like in a biblical sense, wearing sackcloth in public and making a horse a military general type beat.

Now usually the story ends there. However, as he’s very eager to blurt out, the numbers are on his side. He’s built so much creative and cultural momentum in the last decade that he’s become too big to fail: the people who work with and for him would actually lose more if he was put away than if they just iron out his madness when executing his whims. Their careers and futures got tied up in that billion dollar dynamo... Yeezy is responsible for thousands of jobs now.

So what does that mean, that ye is a mad king? What do we do about it? As a fan I think us fans want ye to: 1 stay alive 2 stay relevant 3 make cool s*** for us to consume (if nothing else, just video footage of his particular brand of insanity) with that in mind, let’s look at some facts about following ye:

    1) generally speaking, having a mad king doesn’t really end up that well for the king’s subjects. I’m talking purely politically here, unfortunately non-Americans also get affected by this
1a) cool things get built when you have a mad king. I’m talking Death Star, palace of Versailles type beat. This is usually paid for by an over leveraged government.
1b) most of the tedium of ruling would be trusted to those most capable of satiating or placating the mad king’s Whims. This leads usually to some degree of insulation from reality, but maybe that’s for the best all around. Kanye has no idea about what foreign policy agendas even exist: so someone will burrow their way into ye’s trust and give him one.
1c) Ye has horrible judgement re: understanding the intentions of potential advisors. see Candice Owens and signing Travis Scott to a production deal. He’s easily tricked and outmaneuvered if the agent has done their legwork on whatever he’s really feeling this week.
1d) American credit rating might take a hit. Even if his government runs well, generally businesses value stability and predictability over explosive and erratic growth. We’re talking worldwide recession as everything becomes more expensive because the cost of business has gone up.

    2) it’s really embarrassing to willingly follow a mad man. This could lead to social issues for his followers, or even career issues as you out yourself as subsecptible to agents of instability.
2a ) merch, one of ye’s biggest vectors of income, puts you as a ye follower. They’ll all know.

    3) no one really would make an attempt on his life. Ye’s never gotten himself involved in truely shady s***, so he can’t snitch on anyone too important and get silenced. Maybe he’s really good at giving the perception that he’s loose lipped (he hasn’t really gotten more coherent but he at least recently got more consistent with his ramblings) but that’s probably not the case. I don’t think it’s wise to assume ultra shrewdness when medically diagnosed crazy is right there on the table. No one who isn’t ok with his tornado of chaos will work with him- these are usually market leaders with that position to lose.
3a) his biggest backers will be those who want a shakeup. This is the adidas of the world, not the Nike’s. This is ye’s biggest frustration, or maybe was his frustration and now he’s accepted it by now, as it’s very apparent that the best and brightest have no use for him. That his power comes from cornered animals.

    4) dining rooms are great it’s where the big table goes. It’s not a central room of the house so it’s not susceptible to interruptions of people coming and going through the nexus of the structure. It’s a luxury yes but so is an office or a den. People want the luxury of houses, not just the bare bones of studio apartment living. What I mean is ye is often totally off and makes an awful thing that nobody wants. Usually someone convinces him that it’s awful and it never sees the light of day. But these no men are hard to keep around you cuz it’s exhausting hanging out with a madman. What I’m saying is that we should not clap for only one trailers. That’s our degree of input for his output.

this is gonna be really f***ing interesting to see where he goes with this s***... also in terms of being ostracized for being a "ye follower", that already happens lmao, and by virtue of being a fan of ye, we don't give a f*** what anyone thinks

Actually a great argument, but there could be an essay written from things supporting the total oppsite conclusion too 🤔

Manic energy can lead to great things if channeled right

Yes I agree but is this all going to be channeled correctly in a long, sustained way? It’s not like a depressive episode won’t return too

My whole point is that he has enough inertia & capital to plow though episodes of both manic spending and depressive unproductiveness

So let me get this straight, you’re the one writing a f***ing book dissing Kanye's mental health in Kanye's section on a Kanye fan forum and he’s the one who’s mad? F*** outta here, nobody gonna read that s***.

What happened at this fast interview. Only seen clip and it looked solid. Will listen to full on weekend

Ok, just go with my premise then. If he was insane, enabled by his money and connections, how would you tell? Would you remain a fan? Would you conduct yourself differently as a fan?
