Because unless you're black there's no way you can understand what we went through

You can sit on your computer and recite "facts" and statistics but all you want

Your opinion does NOT matter, we don't care. Your statement holds zero weight

Wym what we went through? Like generationally or modern day?

If you really think saying “don’t use an iPhone” because you’re against capitalism is the same as saying “don’t use a car because it’s missing a seatbelt” you’re missing some brain cells.

He was referring to actual slavery when he said it tho

You understand that every single instance in your life is a choice right? Every single moment in life is binary. Will I perform this action or will I not? Why is involuntary servitude any different? Because our race went through it? That means we gotta be so sensitive about it that we can’t even have a discussion about the many complexities of slavery?

Yeah when it comes to affronts to Black people and our heritage yall ain’t trippin but let somebody say something about gays

But Kanye isn’t gay. What valid opinion would he even have on the gay community. As a Black man I think he’s more than within his right to comment his OPINION on Black history.

It is the same. Why not improve things from what we already have?

They’re not man it’s a silly argument. The premise that the only way to fix corporate greed is through socialism/communism/marxism but refusing to take accountability for contributing to the very system to vow to destroy is a bit hypocritical in my eyes. We can use the free market and the power of human free will to defeat corporate evil. Kanye is a great example of someone trying to do exactly that, and that’s why he inspires me so much. But to equate the dismissal of technology due to a lack of innovation to the abandonment of capitalism due to your personal philosophy is inaccurate in my opinion. To equate that to completely quitting on society is borderline idiotic. And to argue that when people like myself make those claims, that is what we are proposing as equivalents is even sillier because you’re creating this super silly argument and presuming that we are claiming such argument in order to belittle our intelligence when no one even proposed that cars should have stopped being made because they didn’t have seat belts or that because you believe society needs improvements you are wrong for participating in it. It’s quite the opposite, we champion technological innovation and understand that it is the free market that is both the consumer and the producer, (the two beneficiaries of the free market, although many think it’s only the latter) pushes for technological advancement. Competition. The idea that we would be anywhere near the technological frontier that we are with systems under Marxist philosophy remain to be elaborately explained. And if those explanations are out there I have failed to find them. Marxism is an answer to capitalism. It’s a direct cause and effect situation. Marxism can’t exist on its own because you cannot create a society to implement Marxism on without it having been previously a capitalist society. You cannot build a society from the ground up through Marxism and have it be what ours (at least The US) is in terms of quality of life. So maybe some people think it’s fair to give up technological advancement for the so called “well being” of everybody else. That’s a proposition I would personally disagree with. I would argue that technological advancement works for the benefit and well being of everybody else, it is just up the private individuals who own the technology to use it properly. In my eyes, I’d rather live in a world where people are free to not use it properly, (because the mere concept of using something “properly” is entirely subjective and up to an individual’s interpretation) than a world where government officials have to tell YOU what is proper and what is not in regards to how you use your own property.

And before anyone comes at my neck no I do not believe in anarchy. I believe in a well regulated free economy that bases its values off what society wants, not what the federal reserve wants.

Btw none of this is aimed at you personally, @ragedsycokiller this is just my general opinion towards this argument.

    Both

100% agree on modern day, but I do wanna ask your opinion on why we may understand our ancestors struggles since we, by the grace of God, have it so much easier than them. Do you think that because it happened relatively recently in comparison to world history? Do you think our modern day struggles may have something to do with why we can resonate to passionately to the horrific stories of our past? Genuinely curious on your take.
