from what i've picked up over the last 5 years and when he was very early on his career being more open about his health. it seems like he carries mental health issues in a high functioning way, from bipolar to alcoholism (if we believe his quote in that other interview). but i would presume that he's always had moments like this, but sometimes he or someone else has managed to hide them from the public. and rightfully so, someone deserves privacy in that time.
how do you feel about his current music btw? did you like the yandhi leaks, wyoming stuff, wash us in the blood, jik? now it's all been out for a bit

KSG is the best he’s sounded rapping since Yeezus if not earlier IMO
Yandhi Leaks I wasn’t big on. There were some cool ideas but they were brought down by parts I really didn’t like - not just that they were unfinished. Definitely some gems in there
JiK was pretty eh to me. Some great ideas and a couple great tracks but felt unfinished and bland especially content wise
I really really like WUITB. Little shaky vocal wise as is usual for him now but great beat and great direction and far more interesting content wise and a fantastic video. Hoping for more in that vein
He’s clearly still got the talent to me he just doesn’t have the vocals as strongly as before and is lacking in quality control and ideas to an extent
Feels like he does a lot of this stuff just to give him things to make music about
