But it’s not the MBDTF experience. I have a chance to go for $30 and even I’m not sold on it. Not trying to pay $30 to watch other random ppl perform.

You have the opportunity to watch an opera with Kanye's name attached to it.....for $30....and you're not sold because other people might perform....? Ban

  • Nov 21, 2019

Real talk I'm wildly curious to know how this plays out. I assume we get standard Beecroft stagecraft (e.g. people standing around in minimal costumes), but will this be an actual opera with actors, different scenes, etc.? Will Ye play the role of Nebuchadnezzar? If not, who? Do we have any details from extras / performers / stage designers via IG? Is this even happening? So many questions, but the potential is crazy.

Only thing that gives me faith is that (1) Vanessa's attaching her name to this (think Nick Knight and the IMAX film) and (2) things have been strangely silent from the camp (minus SS folks being in Wyoming). Either way, we're feasting.

I’m not interested in Christianity, or opera. So I’m certainly not interested in a Christian opera

Love you bro. If you're a Kanye fan, I think it's a hyper rare opportunity to be there live for a one time only performance. Wish I could, but I'm on the wrong coast.

Side note: I'm not interested in Christianity either per se, but think we could all benefit from connecting with something higher level and elevating our consciousness. I don't think this performance will be like Sunday school, so I'd challenge you to explore it as dope artistic expression and enjoy the rare moment.

According to a press release, the original opera is set in the 6th century B.C.E. and is “based on the biblical story of the Babylonian King from the Book of Daniel,” which “recounts Nebuchadnezzar’s transition from wicked, imperious, self-declared ruler to a true believer who finds salvation in his faith.” The press release continues:

"West conceived of this opera as an expression of his commitment to both his faith and ever-expanding musical palette. Nebuchadnezzar brings together elements from different worlds, including opera, fine art, modern dance, and gospel music, to create an innovative performance structure. West’s sound is the bridge between these artforms."

No it wouldn't b people don't support everything he does. If he had dropped Only One the game during pablo it woulda flopped cause it's not a lane people are checking for.

Not every project is for his fanbase directly. It's a false move connecting the two given how we've seen this lack of hype for projects of his outside of music.

Hell even now large parts of his fanbase trash his fashion work as a distraction still and that's made him a billionaire.

Kanye wave didn't kill anything he's just never been able to push non music projects aswell.

people keep tryna make the same argument every week about all the LA performances

He's doing his 4th show in 5 weeks there and listed these prices origiinally at rates that would take months to sell out

also dont understand how hard it is to move tickets. theres a reason tours get announced upwards of 6 months prior.

Of course Kanye can sell well on a special pop up show if its a one off like the MSG event for example....but the 4th time this closely with something we know little about dont work like that. such a forced argument when dudes know he been performing all year and got 50k people to show up on a sunday morning for coachella

man i couldnt disagree more. also this isnt the same as sunday service or his performances, this is a whole other thing.

are you saying if this was a concert at the hollywood bowl you think it would be selling out for sure?

i just disagree as a fan who lives in LA and would be quick to buy and support anything kanye does.. his last few efforts have let me down. the film, the release party at the forum, the album, etc. is it possible hes been working on this for months and itll be classic? yes. Is it possible this will be thrown together, messy, and feel awkward and preachy? yes.

i buy his shoes, go to his concerts and shows. not everything he does needs to be praised and supported, and it feels to me, that this is a major sign of people not f***ing with the wave.

the 808s hollywood bowl sold out right away

None of your post was a response to mine really so Idk what to say you even brought the Services which I didn't mention.

So Idk what to say again you just kinda ignored my examples and focused on other stuff so I'm lost
