So is it about the numbers or is it about the impact?
This discussion is about HITS. Hits are based on NUMBERS and SONG PERFORMANCE.
If we're talking about "hits" based on Verzus, that argument is already flawed because like I said earlier, Verzus isn't about hits. It's about playing your most timeless records. That's different.
Now, if we're just talking about HITS
Just hits. 10/20/30 hits, Drake would win over Kanye because Drake's 20 biggest hits are way bigger than Kanye's biggest 20 hits but Kanye could easily come up with 20 songs that are seen as more classic records over the 20 songs Drake would come up with and once it becomes about playing older records, the older artist will always win.
You're really stupid.
7 top 10 hits from Scorpion. 3 good songs on the whole album

Drake has 38 top 10 hits. 31 of them aren't from Scorpion.
Drake stans thinking toosie slide going to beat niggas in paris because one went number 1 and the other didnt
delusional as expected

Crazy how there aren’t any good songs on JIK or YE
I think what needs to be set is what the argument is based on. If it's based on hits, then people have to consider the songs that were bigger hits numbers-wise. If it's based on classic/timeless records then let that be stated. Drake also has songs that never charted in the top 10 that were culturally perceived to be hits regardless. So does Kanye and pretty much every hip-hop great.
I'll say it for the last time, though, if we are just talking HITS based on what hits are known as technically, Drake blows every single artist who has ever rapped out of the water and it's not close. Not only in the number of hits he has, but in how big those hits were.

I can agree with you on that but your definition of what a hit is definitely isn't the one that's universally being used ITT. BR got the thread all f***ed up, first posting numbers and then almost immediately after that saying a hit is what you hear irl at parties, invalidating his previous argument.

Ghost towns good, but even that might not make a top 20 so I’m not gonna disagree with you there.
Kanye
Let’s not even bring up just solo songs
Lots of Kanye’s hits are him playing Robin, sometimes even Batgirl

I think that's where the disconnect comes from. When it's just based on Verzus, I agree that culturally relevant records trump hits based on numbers but that only applies when it comes to Verzus.
Billboard and other chart-based companies think of hits differently because they stick to numbers, which is the only thing that really determines what is and what isn't a hit and how big of a hit a song is.
I've already said it that if the argument is about who can come up with the 20 strongest culturally relevant records, Kanye/Hov would win over Drake EASILY, but if it was an argument based on hits and what they actually constitute, Drake wins.

What does this even mean ?
Kanye (2004-2015) beats Drake. It's not close.
Numbers wise, you can't compare. This isn't a who sold more competition because ofc Drake did. This is a song vs song of their top 20 songs.

Go ahead and tell us how many of Drakes hits have 0 features
