I think virgil was just a workaholic tbh and the subsequent revelations about his illness just suggests to me he felt he had limited time and wanted to make the most of it.
He sold 'off white' to lvmh which at the time ppl were sceptical of but again he basically ensured his family had a lump sum to live off so
end of the day, selling a brand rather than ur name better in the long run too.

People still protest different things within their small communities,everything doesn't have to be sensationalized. Every black community has an NAACP org(i think).
