Pokerking4128I think in Yeezus lyrics fit the aesthetics and maybe they do on DONDA and other projects, but the problem is that we thought that Yeezus is just so special and it's ok, but then Kanye become lazier and lazier.
For example, I can't really make a top of songs based on flow/lyrics on the most of Kanye albums pre-Yeezus, but right now it's so easy like NMPILA just sticks out from everything on TLOP, the same way Life of the Party does on DONDA.Oh for sure, I think that's why NMPILA and Real Friends were so exciting to have as the promo singles for TLOP - guy spit harder than we had heard in almost five years at that point. And even KSG as a whole had some real rapping on it. I think he can spit bars if he wants, but he either isn't interested in it aesthetically or isn't interested in putting in the effort. Probably some combination of the two.
