I think people compare stuff to MBDTF just to hype it up in terms of quality, even Ye said to TMZ he was working on Yandhi to take it to MBDTF level and hence kept delaying it.
Haven't heard many graduation comparisons honestly.

TLOP is a mix of all his styles so obviously there's going to be some overlap in musical direction but very few people compared the album as a whole to Graduation. Insiders described it prior to release as as a gospel heavy album with personal cuts, that's not really what it turned out to be but still
