Yeah true. Because i grew up w Ye albums being the best of the best. I always keep him to high standards, i kinda expect a MBDTF everytime which i maybe shouldnt. And although Pablo was good, i didn't like it that much. Since then only been downhill in quality imo, doesn't mean i didn't like some of his music. I actually liked JIK more than ye. Played some tracks of JIK a lot that year, but both albums were average imo. KSG was a return to form but had not much replay value imo.

I disliked what i heard at the 1st listening party cause it was unfinished af. If he dropped it like that it wouldve been his worst album imo. If he drops it now it could be around TLOP level i think, maybe higher. So yeah been negative. Still a bit negative bout some of his rapping on this album tho, but atleast it sounds much better than his last albums

Yeah, with weekend it's kinda feels overproduced, with Kanye it doesn't sound perfect but it's quirky and interesting.

I respect that. I'm a fan since the Graduation era and I had the same feelings and problems. I was very very disappointed about ye at first but we need to accept that he can't do another MBDTF anymore and I think that's ok. You can't do something like MBDTF twice.

That's why my expectations for Donda were kinda low but I'm very surprised. Jesus Lord might be the closest thing to MBDTF for me with the powerful outro. Some of his rapping sounds indeed a little bit "strange"? but they weren't as bad as on JIK or on Nah Nah Nah. I just think he wants to try out new things and I respect that. Right now I would say it's even better than TLOP because the "lows" on Donda are way better than the lows on TLOP
