Every DAW has its benefits just use what works for you Id say its pretty useful to know multiple but once you learn one really well its defo easier to get into others

Mike Dean used to be just pro tools but apparently he uses all sorts of daws now makes you more versatile

Anyone use Pro Tools here? I still think it's pretty logical in terms of routing and mixing in it is nice but its quite sloppy and looks dated. Still a great tool tho.

Studio One is on the come up!

Reaper is a tracker daw right?

It looks so cool for some reason lol

I don't exactly know the difference between a tracker and a regular DAW to be honest besides being more "free" for what I've known. I tried ABLETON for a few months before going into Reaper and I always thought Ableton was super limited, and with Reaper I can almost do whatever the hell I want

Tried to learn the basics of it in college since it comes up often in studio settings but it hasn’t clicked with me yet 😭 yeah it’s good for tracking and obviously mixing but some of my fav producers also make full beats and stuff within it using audio + midi like other daws

Trackers were the earliest inventions of DAWs. They worked with the Amiga computers and old s*** like that.. its a different approach to how you lay out and structure a track and has obvious limitations but it also looks badass and futuristic to me at least

I was thinking of Renoise btw not Reaper

I think Kanye really waiting on Drake too.

He's tryna prove he's still #1 by beating drake in sales.

Or by at least making it not so easy for him.

Guaranteed Drake by himself would prob sell ez af.

But with Kanye as his competitor. Numbers would be dum weak.

What do you think sets it apart? What do you like about it?

-Every track can be what you want: an audio track, a midi track, an FX send track, a video track, etc etc

-It doesn't consume a lot of CPU or RAM, and you can tweak every aspect of the software functioning to adapt to every situation. For example, changing things to focus more on a livd performance aspect

-Accepts with no limitations every plugin, both 32 and 64 bits, located everywhere you want

-The interface is super easy to use, and you can change it freely with custom themes made by you or download them from the community

-You can assign anything you want to a custom command

-You can edit video on it, and it's very useful for live performances that also need sync visuals to the songs

And I know I'm missing a lot more features
