There is a story to that song.

Before my grandma passed in March of 2020, she was suffering greatly from dementia/Alzheimer’s.

Every morning before work, my Dad & I would go to her house to feed her breakfast & get her dressed, etc.

I got her breakfast ready, and went out to her living room while I waited for my dad to finishing bathing & dressing her.

In the living room, She had a grand piano in there. I never really learned to play piano, but I can improvise quite well and just make some small tunes.

I sat there and this song, Sierra, just came to me.

So I just kept playing the one loop for a few minutes & by then, my dad & grandma were ready to come out for breakfast.

I stopped playing.

She hobbled by me, glancing at me, grabbing onto everything she could to hold herself up, and all she said was

“It sounds nice, but the piano is really out of tune”

She died a few days later.

It’s the last thing she ever heard me play.

I eventually went home & recreated the piece & added to the song, and it eventually became Sierra.

I’m glad you like it.
