Even in S4 when they had dialogues to work on, the changes they made showed they didn't fully understand the characters or what to do with them

Really it's just the s4 finale moreso than the whole season. But the removal of Tysha's full story ruined the final scene of the season. That scene doesn't make any sense with the removal of her story.
