facts
Big day was atrocious but s*** definitely went way too far in that direction
He’s still a talented guy who has potential to drop plenty more great music
Chance better not be another Nicki Minaj who is a good rapper that can't make an album reflective of that
The rant his former manager went on in the legal deposition made me sad
i need to find that, sounds entertaining
yeah, it's not often that we see such a massive swing in popularity like that. he went from "oh, this guy could be on the mount rushmore of this generation" with all of the hype in the world to an absolute joke
Its all his fault.
He let all the love of Coloring Book and the Kanye cosign get to his head and it probably made him feel like he was the next Ye. Rushing his debut album and putting together some superficial BS album about the love he has for his wife. His manager at the time told him to slow down and take his time on the album but Chance wouldnt listen. Its sad to see how much the culture beat him to a bloody pulp, but he needed to be humbled.

10 day, acid rap, and coloring book were pretty good - the big day was a BIGGGGG drop in quality

The Big Day was him and his family d***ing around in the studio for two months not listening to a single A&R and idk if he’s gonna get out of that “family over everything I’m rich lets have fun” position
You know I’d expect someone like him to have actually matured as a person knowing what he’s experienced but this dude is even more childlike than his 2012 self

Maybe "mixtapes" mean nothing in the streaming era, but I've always considered those as mixtapes.

Facts. KTT2 loves to clown Chance but his mixtape trilogy at the very least was good. Not an abomination like his album.

maybe he was trying to borrow from kanye's impulsive formula a bit too much? that sort of quick turnaround only works with supreme creatives like ye. an artist like chance needs to take his time, 100%

They were full projects imo
Most mixtapes post SFG were just full fledged projects released for free except for most trap rappers

yeah, the line between mixtapes and albums is pretty blurry nowadays, lmao

Absolutely 100%
Dude even released his album Friday morning instead of Thursday night. Who else has done that in recent times? Ye.

acid rap is personally one of my favorite projects of all time, and 10 day + coloring book have plenty of moments that demonstrate how immense his potential is. there was not a single song i enjoyed on the big day, honestly

which makes it even weirder that for his debut album, he forgets everything he knows about making a good project and gives us trash
