Maybe i have the nostalgia lense but i always liked the original full metal alchemist more than brotherhood. It felt it had more mystery and unanswered questions and i like the whole vibe of it. Like the God figure and the black guy felt like a f***ing mystery like i geniuly intrigued. It was more about the whole concept of equal exchange was on the forefront and the brutality of the world. It all felt more hopeless and angsty. Brotherhood made everything more shounen with specific goals and a conclusive end. It felt happier to me. I liked that too but the old version has that special touch that i prefer.
