SlurrinCan you actually breakdown why you think Fivio's verse is 'basic'? Looking back at the classic verses you mentioned, what makes them 'classic' for me is the artist's presence, execution, and elevation above their own body of work (in other words Kanye bringing out the absolute best in them).
Subject matter can only go so deep and I don't think those classic verses are orders of magnitude deeper than Fivio's. Like Rick Ross on DIAND for example is pretty straightforward in expressing some of the key themes of MBDTF.
Fivio killed the track with his presence and the subject matter of his verse is still good as well, even if it's not on a completely different level.
I agree with you about Jay Elec tho
Appreciate the comment instead of just attacking me lol. Those verses weren’t deeper per se, some might have been, but they are all clever, well written, memorable. That’s one thing I remember about Kanye albums - he brings out the best in everyone, everyone shows up with their A game.
Fivio’s verse is not quotable. It’s not experimental either so he can’t lean on that crutch of vibes over rappity rap. I don’t feel the urge to like memorize it. He reminds me of Euro from Young Money.
But now I’m sounding too harsh it’s really not bad. That Jay Elec verse though.
