why man
is it just me or does it sound like ye is borrowing uzi's flow on off the grid? especially the "i got this god power that's my leverages i got this holy water that's my beverages" part
I ran the outro back like 5 times last night
so surreal and heartbreaking
It’s very sad, and the fact he’s been doing solitary that long is just insane. I can’t even imagine.
It was just the length of the album and the sequencing that was taking u out of it
Nah length im okay with
Im a guy who can sit through hours of my goat just talking
But it was the unexpected backseat Ye took on the first couple songs combined with certain parts musically
is it just me or does it sound like ye is borrowing uzi's flow on off the grid? especially the "i got this god power that's my leverages i got this holy water that's my beverages" part
It’s just another triplet flow
why do people suddenly care about a kanye album not having women featured, like there isn’t a single female feature on yeezus?????
This is what’s so weird to me. Is it the amount of features that’s the problem or the amount of time? Wtf. Did J Cole have any females at all on his album?
doesnt it have shenseea?? or am i misunderstanding
it has Kanyes mom, Syleena doing the Donda chant, female vocal samples, female choir and Shenseea on 2 tracks
edit: Stalone on Donda

most mainstream hip hop records don't feature women
i think its either buju banton or dem joints speaking though
Idc who it is. Guy sounds like Sebastian
feel like liberal feminism was even more intense back then tho
this post makes me sound like a conservative
A different instantiation of that political impulse was dominant at the time
At the time Kanye’s lyrics were the focus of the (pardon this corny expression) “woke” ire
The idea that women needed “representation” on a sexist album didn’t come up — Art was the main focus still — critiquing the artist was the avenue of revolutionary ardor
Now the artist’s work is an avenue to meet a representational quota — the art itself is secondary
most mainstream hip hop records don't feature women
Let's keep it that way
JAIL PT 2 OUT NOW
Video Games - Sufjan Stevens
Born Tired - Jhene Aiko
Ring - Sylvan Esso
Those resonate with me.
He said big artist tho

I know man it’s such a strange criticism
Kanye West’s Donda is a cinematic masterpiece. With features from Lil Durk, Kid Cudi, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott and Baby Keem, this album really has the heart and soul it needs. Great messages, and even better music.
Kanye is back.
RATING: 3/10 not enough women
