It's some funny s*** and part of the reason why Gospel never moves forward with the Gospel Choirs. Because you know what it's like? How people were addicted to recreating New Jack Swing up tempo and slow tempo even in the 2000's.
Gospel is kinda the same way. The formula they have had for the last 30+ years is never going to be adapted even if the sales keep shrinking.
Some of the greatest musical innovations came from Gospel but now the imaginary rules have binded them to a system that buckles. They could learn something from Ye.

ye the only one i feel who got the reach and influence to shift something in gospel but i don’t see it happening it’s like country music it’s very traditional so it’s very slow to change
