If Donda nominated for album of the year. Surely it’ll win rap album right?
If Donda nominated for album of the year. Surely it’ll win rap album right?
I think a drake album was in the same situation and it didn't win
DONDA not album of the year. It’s the album of life. Might be disrespectful if it only wins album of the year tbh.
NOTHER ONE

LMAO
The "If the Grammys wanted to suggest that their voting members are old and out of touch with the direction of hip-hop, these nominations all but confirm it."
Followed by a paragraph talking about how the category must have been decided by sales ?? Tell me who is the out of touch 1
That paragraph applied far more to the nominees for rap.album oty last year which was all dust and pitchfork prob ate up

I havent checked but if donda wins, it would prob be the worst reviewed album to win aoty or raoty. Will be interesting it grows even further apart from critical acclaim going forward

"Drake’s “Way Too Sexy” definitely occupied space in the zeitgeist, but Certified Lover Boy hit like mids, and its impact reflected that. Baby Keem’s most endearing quality is that he has Kendrick Lamar’s phone number."

I wonder if this is the same writer who said baby keem had the bottom 1 worst verse on donda

I don’t think so but it does sound like something he would write .
"Putting aside for a minute that a win for either Donda or “Jail” would mean a win for Marilyn Manson and DaBaby,"
what a boring perspective on music
also it's funny they call "jesus lord" a "paradoxically" named song. like 1) many songs have names that make no or little sense, and 2) it's incredibly annoying how common it is for people with minimal knowledge of religions to speak on them

What bothers me just as much is that both Rolling Stone and Pitchfork both cannot fathom...cannot let in the alternative notion that maybe Donda is not as bad or mediocre as they thought. Pitchfork refers to its inclusion as a "sick joke" that wouldn't qualify as one of the year's great albums by any metric. To be that sure of yourself when talking about a dense, complicated album by one of the all-time great and groundbreaking artists is pure, short-sighted arrogance. It's disgusting.
