even wash us in the blood and nah nah nah (
) don't sound anything like what we got. i mean wash us in the blood kinda u could somewhat make an argument for it, but not in regards to his rapping that's for sure.
bro combined the secular and religious/spiritual s*** so well too. like i thought wash us in the blood was gonna be indicative of the album's attempt at combining those two genres of themes. but then when i heard Lord I Need You i realized he did a damn fine job for his first real attempt post-JIK. even the name of that song is a great mixture of ideas, relating to god obvsly n kim (where "lord" is used as a way of adding emphasis to "I need you")
Is Donda better than TLOP?
Lyrically, TLOP is Ye’s worse album. Sonically it’s great but boy those last minute lyrics is what brings it down. DONDA feels like much more time went into all aspects of it. It’s a much more cohesive album and the Deluxe fine tunes an already great album.
