I'm kinda on the fence because when was the last time a ye album was received positively on first release? I also see WLR Stan's saying this great but they didn't even like WLR when it first dropped

This is different. This album is legit horrible

he’s hasn’t been a perfectionist since 2013. something happened in yeezus era where he no longer wanted to make perfect things. after that, his music has been seemingly intentionally half assed.

he was still a perfectionist in 2014-2015 imo

the rise of the Yeezy brand made him care way less about making music. TLOP was rushed but he still managed to strike gold, but now we just get albums that were made in 3 days

I love WLR but this is unfinished garbage

I’m sure you guys are still recovering from what just happened. But I just want you to know, that there is light at the end of the tunnel. CLB soon. More chune for your headtop

I blame y'all white boys that gassing this for why his bar is so gotdamn low now. Ever since Yeezus y'all been gassing him to try less and less. I swear y'all ruin everything

    This.

Kanye fans been gassing this guy up to the point that he really believes this level of effort is correct.

Dude’s not had anything to really prove since MBDTF and it shows.

which is so odd. because it always appears like he's been recording albums for months but then it's said that most of the tracks were recorded last minute

it really feels like he'd rather just make a bunch of beat templates then improve upon what he already had

    I loved the pop interlude

Yall just aren’t emotionally intelligent and are actually sheltered kids

Hearing a gone too soon talent rapping about how he used to eat 50 cent cake when he was hungry is quintessential gut punching emotional s*** id expect on a ye album

To be fair, you have to have a very high EQ to understand DONDA. The emotion is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of music theory most of the songs will go over a suburban listener's head
