MongrelHeartKanye is washed man. I think he still has a great ear for both beats and melodies, he just doesn't have it in him anymore to put good songs together, let alone full projects. His heart isn't in it anymore. This is the album for his mother, after all these years. If this is full of middling unfinished demos, why would any future project not be?
It's over.
This is how I been felt until he proves otherwise

DoubleO 5idk man at first it kinda funny how unlistenable it can be but after while it just becomes sad to think about given the album name, circumstances and his history
That's my thing too. The track about him losing his family is heartbreaking but the way that it's presented, it just hurts to listen to. I feel like Ye tells stories with his instrumentals alone, the spoken word by his mom and then his vocals coming in directly after that clash so hard. Especially considering the fact that he's mumbling and repeating the same phrase over and over. I could point to any song on 808s where he sings/raps about his pain over losing his mother and say it's miles better. When he focuses on music full time and doesn't rush stuff together, its beautiful.
