Takes 8 hours to ingest it into the servers
Can’t wait for him to turn this into a 5 track album
Man I'll be so disappointed if that leaked track isn't on it, it's a 9/10 album for me otherwise

They just uploading it on Egyptian internet no worries man I know how slow our internet could be
I don't think he can save it. It is what it is mostly.
most the songs are saveable in theory but its not gonna happen lol, kanyes not gonna go from the mess he played last night to perfecting it with new verses on each track in less than 24hrs
like whos there when i need a shoulder to lean on
i hope youre there when i need the demons to be gone
and its not fairrrr i have to fight them on my own
shambles if this drops on streaming COMPLETELY different sounding with new or deleted songs

pure souls
damn man i was s***ting on it, but with a Ye verse this Vory and Durk track could be really good
Is the general opinion that this is coming today at some point?
if they are dumb yes
nah what the hell kinda demon took over kanye when he made pure souls him and roddy was dropping 67 points on that joint. his flow was tight, lyrics are great and the instrumental is phenomenal
their chemistry is better than expected
Is the general opinion that this is coming today at some point?
Id say no way
almost 500 ratings for an unreleased album :/
https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/kanye-west/donda/
totally incoherent, definitely unfinished; the most disoriented I’ve felt listening to a new release since…well, since Yeezus. the song from those listening party Twitter snippets? not even on here. the song from the Beats commercial? they played the whole thing in the ad. the song where Jay Z recorded his verse the day of? f***in’ sounds like it! beat slaps though!
8 years ago blindmowing posted a now-deleted review where he described Yeezus as “a series of f*** its”. (“can’t find a good use for this sample? f*** it, just throw it in the middle of the opening track. can’t decide on a cover? f*** it, release it without one.”) Donda (maybe with child, maybe presented by Kanye West, idk) is the current apotheosis of Kanye’s f*** it mentality. it won’t get released in anything approaching a final form for another three months. it’s his most exciting music in years.

second post edible impressions of kanye west's "2021-07-23_Donda"
i am in the middle of my second listen of kanye west's new snapshot, and both of which have been taken on some fairly strong edibles (at least for me.) the first time i heard this album i was surrounded by my friends who all weren't really listening while i played the album on my stereo and was unbelievably conked out hearing this album.
this album is scary
its really really terrifying
this album truly feels, more than any other kanye west album, that im seeing and directly connected to a live feed of kanye west's thoughts, and what is being fed to my screen is just foreign. just completely untethered to what i know and i have no idea how to process it or anything. this is not a hip hop album this is not a rap album this is not a lot of things.
im glad he finally took my advice for getting rid of the drums, ive really been fighting for that for a while and thinking about how powerful it can really be. this album is all texture, even melodies take a back seat to just truly unveil the power of a single sound. shoulder to lean on is incredibly stark with the almost unadorned beautiful synth lead sounding like the forbidden forgotten badalemnti track that everyone forgot about. its just that and the rappers saying words over the power of just one musical puzzle piece.
i really hope kanye is okay. when i was blasted every repeat, every new piano track, every new backing vocal, everything was imbued with this feeling of just pure terror. not just my terror too, but also the terror that kanye west must endure. this album is one of the scariest albums ive ever heard because it's so real this is not a joke or a play this is real life and the blueprint fundamentals to emotion without the mouthpiece for them. its really gorgeous and i really feel something when i listen to it.
i dont really know what its saying, but its resonating with me anyways.
this will probably sound really goofy when im not blasted but idk this sums up my impressions.
24 / you're gonna be okay - every time that line repeats it hits somewhere else in my soul, maybe i really will be okay. also I had to add this part that i just remembered im editing the review right now, but when i first heard this i thought the line in the later part of the song was "the album's not finished" instead of "god's not finished," and briefly for a moment I thought we would be getting an entire concept album about kanye's famous release style and bringing the "time of date" of the album recording to the present day at all times. because what's a better experience than one that's happening RIGHT NOW, and not later, and not before. i think i made up that line in an intoxicated stupor but you know what, maybe i was right.
south carolina - when i was listening and watching i was seeing kanye in this rotating white spotlight while hearing this piano loop and then the gospel i felt like i was hearing music from a world where the frequencies were not attuned to the ones my normal ears have
junya - the bass on this one is really funny, not much else to say
remote - this song is f***ed. something about the melody or the chords of this song is absolutely evil and something is horribly wrong or unholy or blasphemous about it or something. cannot explain why i think this, but this song feels of death
praise god - this one was fun and went kind of hard, but theres definitely too much "this is being played in the stadium" reverb on it for it really to be as punchy as i'd like
never abandon your family - this one is even more scary than remote. this is just absolute pure tragedy put on tape, and all the synths and kanyes weirdly unfamiliar vocals that make me feel like im listening to something created by an alien or kanye wests evil black lodge doppelganger. i really "dont like it" from like an emotional perspective because it's depressing but i find it fascinating. frippertronics 2000
hurricane - i love what the f*** he did to this song, he absolutely ripped apart this song, melted it back into shape, and then threw it in the wringer. hurricane was a borderline normal, very quality kanye banger. this ? is something else entirely. again, this feels like kanye is approaching outsider levels, like hes reversing his course out of the music industry and into the stars.
moon - absolute f***ing magic. unparalleled
shoulder to lean on - another harrowing track; that synth lead really does sound like the most important thing in the world. im not even sober enough to process what either durk or the other guy are saying at all but it sounds like the next testament in size and occupancy of space
pure souls - shockingly normal song, it goes hard ig but its definitely out of place; is one of the only tracks that feels somehow unaffected by the deep blueness and darkness underneath this record that seeps in on a lot of other tracks.
new again - i remember for a bit this was the only song my friends who listened with me actually liked, and then the weird ass vocal sample came in and they were like wtf, and yea, it is a bit wtf. dont even know what the f*** this is supposed to sound like, but i think its interesting
we made it - this sounds like how a song sounds like after you use rx7 music rebalancer to remove the instrumental from a song so u can then remix it or add a new instrumental and sometimes the artifacts sound interesting with the track so you keep them. i like this song a little because it reminds me of something i'd do, even if it sounds a bit s***. also pop smoke sounds truly reanimated on this track; like they attached marionette strings to his bones in the dirt and made them sing again.
i know god breathed on this - one of the more """"normal"""" sounding tracks, but it goes hard and also has some crazy vocal moments that definitely dont sound like they ever would've been a synapse in the jik era. also christ those chants/choir vocals feel like the end of the f***ing world.
no child left behind - honestly kanye didnt even need to say anything on this one and these chords would say enough. so gothic in a really lovely way, and it also reminds me of the harmonic sequences that john maus does often, where he usually talks about using scales from when the church had power and then says some stuff about capital having power and a system of what not and its all there. this song holds power, and it wields it with the hands of the holy
go to jail - at this point i dont even know what to say or how to process something like this. like how do you get here? what other paths reveal their way once this is created? why is jay-z even near a project this f***ing twisted, i feel like he would be far away with a ten foot cane, away from this. this one also has a darkness to it but its also one of the moments where i feel any sort of positive emotion. jay z had a nice verse his voice was fun to hear out of the blue.
this "review" will most definitely be outdated by within maybe like 25 minutes or so, as kanye makes a new copy of donda that has the new bells and whistles and features and surprises that fans would expect from the kanye album cycle. but this hypothetical copy of donda, will never be this copy of donda. this is the opposite of timeless; this is the album of 8:5whatever central time while live streamed at the mercededs benz stadium
the "new" donda will likely arrive someday. but this will always hold a special place in my soul, even if new donda gets number one on the billboard and makes kanye a lot of money and perhaps even more fame. one second it's there, the next it's gone forever.
okay goodnight i will listen to this album some more another day :)
(small addendum)
im watching bits of the actual live “show” associated with this livestream. kanye lost in the stinging cold of the arctic circle. kanye west is isolated. hes alone. a spot in the spotlight, but hes not the star of the show, because there is no show. the audience is dark, they might as well not be here. livestream from the inside of kanyes head when hes asleep. small guy in a big world
we are minutes away wow
The best lyrics from the stream yesterday
“Why Eve made Adam eat that, thats why I don’t eat a b**** food now”
“The bible made me hate a b****”
