wasnt that supposed to be tidal

Kinda, but not really. Tidal just paid the most out of all other streaming services, but Kanye is saying here to remove the middleman entirely and self-release.

Of course billionaire kanye doesn’t realize why it isn’t cool to lock your music behind a $200 paywall unbelievable

It’s not locked whatsoever. The Donda Deluxe tracks leaked online as soon as they were available on the Stem Player. The same will happen for Donda 2.

dis is a new paradigm tho. check the infographic bout stemplayer becomin an actual streaming service on top of bein a product

S*** if it does and ends up being widely adopted then sure, I’ll eat my words. But until now that’s no better than the average startup roadmap. The vast majority of consumers don’t have access or interest in the stem player and I’d be shocked if it takes off in its current form. It’s effectively an MP3 player with playable stems and the general public isn’t about to pay $200 for that rather than $10 a month to have a streaming app on their phone they have with them anyway.
