I remember buying TCD the day it released and going nuts in the car on my way home from Best Buy. It was the best music I'd ever heard in my life at that point.
Flash forward to today.. after this album finished.. I am officially no longer a fan of Ye like I was when I was younger. This album is so f***ing boring... The lyrics are so underwhelming. The music is all over the place.. if it wasn't for Kenny G &The Clipse this would seriously be one of the worst pieces of music that —I— have personally heard this year. This s*** sucks... I'm so disappointed.

not all his 'corny' lines are bad tho, bleached a****** is iconic, everything from yeezus is iconic (even 300 trojans/romans)
yeah, these are classic kanye. im not gunna split hairs about which ones worked and which didnt as well because its hit or miss for something to be stupid but f***ing hilarious or awesome vs just stupid so everyone will have different picks. he did it best on yeezus while TLOP had some good ones and meh ones.
so yeah we dont really get lyrics that are stupid/corny/distracting but we also miss out on classic ye type lines where his personality comes thru. that line about he his bleached hair every time he almost died is great and something i wish there was more of. i think the main reason for this is like 90% of his bars are not kanye centric. theyre just like from an anon religion point of view saying like prayer stuff, chanting stuff. while in the past it was the opposite, 90% of the bars were kanye centric

OttmarI'm satisfied. Can already tell I'm f***ing with this a lot more than with Ye. No bad songs on here imo. And Follow God and Use this Gospel are crazy nice, although the transition to the saxophone in UTG really is a bit awkward

yeah man, i feel like i have a good read on ye since im older and been a fan for so long, i may be harsh on him now, but its only because i know what the music could be.. this s*** just aint it..
and its somewhat understandable because hes in his 40s now and focused on so many other things, but the lack of attention to detail in the mixing (I know he doesnt handle the mixing and let consequence oversee the end of it), and the lack of effort in verses that obviously should have been rerecorded... theres just no excuse for it lol
