JIK is great conceptually. The ideas from both a production standpoint and overall song-structure and rhythm standpoint are wonderful. The guests, choirs, and instrumentals are really unique. But, here’s the problem:

    1. Many will be disappointed right off the bat because, well, this sound is new and not something to be expected of ye. Those who hate religious-focused music won’t be a fan, those with the expectations of drum-ridden bangers like old ye won’t be a fan, and those expecting deep lyrical content definitely won’t be a fan.

    2. For those who actually admire this direction and the ideas, they are just pain executed poorly because:

    (a) the vocal recording was done poorly or on the wrong equipment

    (b) the mixes aren’t good, nor is the overall master to any song

    and
    (c) Kanye’s vocal performances are very lackluster. Not just lyrically, but he has no passion to his voice on many of these tracks. Not all, but most.

I’m part of camp 2, but even my admiration for this direction can’t save the rushed production and lack of vocal performance. Not to mention, everything is cut short.

Probably. I also think listening it there on the theatre with kanye's hyped ass made it more memorable and better to you, which is not necessarily a bad thing
