snaildownBasically everything after Selah and Follow God. I was encouraged by those songs since there's some interesting flows and rhyme schemes and he's relating the gospel and Christian themes to his life.
Almost everything afterward is just corny and shallow. Water is the best example since it's just "Jesus is X, Jesus is Y, Jesus is Z" delivered in the most monotone way possible. There's nothing new or interesting there. Use This Gospel could've been interesting but instead it's just basic "the demons are trembling because God" lyrics that anyone could write.
I'll give you water and Closed on Sunday, those the only 2 I'd say have weak lyrics compared to the other tracks.
On God is pretty damn good too, Love when Ye shows vulnerability.
Great references to the bible, most of the lyrics stick to the theme.

there is no standout track, unlike Ghost Town on ye. that s*** is magical. there is no match on this album
He rambles on about random s***. Clearly he doesn't care about lyrics AT ALL anymore. Almost all the songs take the same approaches, themes are all the same. They are all cliche, about how he has found god, but not in a profound way
He took a dope Pierre Bourne beat and he ruined it. On God is not bad, but that's not how he should have came on that beat. It's predominantly Kanye, very little meaningful samples or features. Which is the worst idea possible for a Kanye West album. He thrives off collaboration.
And the mixing is not good. It's not bad either. But not great for a full length studio album by a major artist. Explain to me why the Clipse ruinion was so forgettable too! Pusha's vocals were not mixed as good as they should have been!
In a few years, this will be looked at as a major mis-step.
You're lying to yourself if you think On God is not a stand out. Instant classic track.

I still like the song and glad it's on the album but it's super cleaned up is all.

Whether it's merch, physical copies, tours, etc., I always support. But this s*** is a disappointment to me. Just my opinion
