If your passionate behind the words you sing that far exceeds someone just "singing on tune" we already get that from majority of pop n r&b records and they don't move me the slightest. Leonard Cohen isn't the best singer, nor is Johnny Cash but you feel the raw emotions coming out, the heart they put into it and that's all I can ask for if you're not the strongest vocalist
That's a fair opinion but personally for me I like it when people are good technical singers. Even someone like Cudi who's no pro but he can hold a note, it's just more pleasing for me but I understand where you're coming from, MJ wasn't the best vocalist but he gave you that feeling
