When was the last time you could sit down to an album and just let it play through over and over again?
The signs aren’t too short. I personally think it’s a beautiful album and maybe his best since Yeezus. And I love all his music. It’s definitely a change of pace and coming from a 42 year old man with nothing to prove and a beautiful family and a billion dollar company I think the message is really refreshing. And it doesn’t feel forced, he’s been rapping about god for so long....
The album still needs to sink in. There’s obviously room to debate cause that’s what the internet is for I guess but one thing I gotta point out is the end. Kanye is frustrating sometimes, and that song sounds like (and apparently is) it gets better and better. BUT, this is an album about Ye’s love of Christ and what better way to end it by cutting it out at the literal moment in the album where you want to hear about Jesus more than you have the last 27 minutes. It’s building up so f***ing perfectly and then bam, sopranos cut to black genius move.
Maybe Jesus is born actually comes out and the first song picks up right where the outro left off. This album starts about as abruptly as Yeezus so it would make sense. But I’m not counting on it.
I’m just happy Kanye, who has given us more interesting work than just about anyone else in our lifetime, is happy with his life and faith and has put out a concise statement addressing it.
Then again it’s probably easier for me to enjoy the album for what it is instead of what I want it to be because I haven’t listened to every single thing that’s leaked in the past year and torn it apart before the proper album arrived.
This was very well written & a great read. I agree. Nice job
You can sit any person down and play them this album and they are gonna tell you its great
Yall are just stuck in your weirdo reddit bubble where everything has to be 6 minute overproduced boring garbage
Exactly right
The hate is from faceless and anonymous people with no skin in the game
I would to see anyone explain their dislike of the album in an in-person conversation without resorting to ad hominems about Kanye
They're getting left behind
This is a new era
Imagine not knowing my proper name. Clown.
c***, biggest loser ever
