You can tell after TCD the type of albums that followed.
Artists like Common, Lupe etc all followed the template.
Even in current day, like Cole still using that template.
The TCD influence isn’t talked about enough on here.

Nah it's pretty true Hip Hop especially at that time had an obsession with gunplay.
Kanye himself even said he spent his early career tryna rap like that and Pharrell has spoken over years about that era aswell.
For alot of dudes even at that time period they say Ye was the first and as someone who grew up and watched I agree.
You had a few outliers like Fugees and Outkast but overall there wasn't a mass explosion til Ye broke it down.
