After that album more and more artists started to take a more artistical approach to their music. It opened the gate for super artistical songs like Runaway.
id say this is more prevalent than cd. the only person as cinematic as Kanye was on fantasy was kanye on LR. since fantasy everyone tries for the cinematography in their production

Yes, the influence of 808s and CD is more directly linked with the music itself. The influence of MBDTF is just as big but more linked with the general conception of an album. MBDTF is a turning point in the history of this genre as to what an album within this genre could be. Rappers started opening up for a wider artistical scale and the influence in terms of song structure is huge.
